Effect of size reduction on yellow soybean seed characterization based on colorimetry

Abstract Soybean seed, which is generally yellow in color, the primary product of soybean plants sold Indonesian market. To characterize non-destructively, it necessary to understand extent physical treatment, including size reduction, may affects color characteristics. Therefore, this study aimed determine effect reduction seeds on its parameters. A completely randomized design was performed with particle factor five levels and variety four levels. Particle included: intact seed; >595; 595-250 μm; 250-145 <145 μm size, while included Anjasmoro; Argomulyo; Grobogan seed obtained from local Color parameters used were L, a*, b*, Hue C*.
